While attending the School of American Ballet Matthew trained under such renowned teachers as Stanley Williams, Richard Rapp, Andre Kramerevsky, Peter Boal and Jock Soto as well as guest teachers Peter Martins, Violette Verdy and Mikhail Baryshnikov.
After graduating from the School of American Ballet in 1998 Matthew accepted employment as a dancer with Celebrity Cruise Lines, dancing in numerous productions onboard the "Horizon". In 1999 Matthew returned to New York City to join the cast of the feature film "Center Stage". Matthew moved to southern California after the filming of "Center Stage" to pursue acting and was cast in the films "Bedazzled" and "Pearl Harbor".
While in California Matthew also taught at several studios in the region as a full time teacher and choreographer. During this time Matthew won several choreographic awards in National Competition. In 2002 Matthew returned to Rome, New York and in 2003 began teaching at the John Hayes O'Neill Studio of Dance. In 2006 he was the Production Manager for Moscow Ballets "Great Russian Nutcracker" national tour.
Matthew continues to teach and choreograph at the John Hayes O'Neill Studio of Dance which he considers his second home with his second family.
